About Dr. Kankanala

Suresh Kankanala, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician, educator, and physician leader in Fort Worth, Texas. He provides outpatient care at Medical Associates of North Texas, seeing individuals at both the Fort Worth hospital district location and the Weatherford clinic, serving residents across Tarrant County, Parker County, and Johnson County, and also provides inpatient care at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center.

Dr. Kankanala serves as Associate Professor and Clerkship Director in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Burnett School of Medicine at Texas Christian University (TCU) and is Core Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center, reflecting his strong commitment to medical education and physician training.

Dr. Kankanala earned his medical degree from Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India, one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in the country. He subsequently completed postgraduate training in general surgery at Guntur Medical College before moving to the United States, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Canton Medical Education Foundation in Canton, Ohio.

Since beginning his practice in Fort Worth in 2010, Dr. Kankanala has developed extensive experience managing complex and high-acuity medical conditions. In 2016, he co-founded Medical Associates of North Texas with Dr. Ravi Siripurapu with the goal of delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to the community.

Dr. Kankanala previously served as Chief of the Department of Medicine at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center. In his outpatient practice, he focuses on building long-term relationships while managing both acute and chronic medical conditions. He emphasizes preventive care and proactive disease management to help individuals maintain their health and avoid hospitalizations. He also has a special interest in caring for complex internal medicine conditions, including pre- and post-operative as well as transplant-related medical issues.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kankanala enjoys playing tennis and golf and following professional sports, particularly the NFL and NBA.
