Our Approach
Weight loss that starts with your whole health
Many people looking for medical weight loss have already tried on their own, and some have tried programs that never asked about the rest of their health. Each of our physicians is board-certified in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health, so your weight is managed alongside your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyroid, with bloodwork drawn in our office. GLP-1 medications are prescribed when they are the right fit, and we check what your insurance covers before you start.
Excellent care and a welcoming environment. The staff is professional, kind, and attentive from the moment you walk in, and the doctors take the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and truly care. Highly recommended for quality medical care in Fort Worth.
Why Choose Us
Why choose us for weight loss
A Physician Behind Every Plan
Your weight loss plan is written and overseen by a physician board-certified in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health, with physician assistants and a nurse practitioner on the same team. Not a med spa or an app, but a doctor who knows your history.
Labs On-Site
Bloodwork is drawn in our office, with many results during the visit, so medication decisions and dose changes rest on your actual numbers rather than a guess.
The Whole Picture, Managed Together
Weight problems rarely show up by themselves. The same physician who guides your weight loss manages your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and thyroid, so every part of the plan accounts for the others.
A Team Behind Your Follow-Ups
Check-ins do not depend on one calendar. If your doctor is out, someone else in our group picks up the visit with your records open, and exam-free follow-ups can happen by secure video.
Conditions We Treat
Weight-related conditions we manage together
Excess Weight
Weight that has not responded to diet and exercise alone is evaluated like any other medical condition, with a physician-written plan and GLP-1 medications when they are the right fit.
Elevated Blood Sugar
Office bloodwork shows where your blood sugar stands; losing weight is one of the most effective ways to bring it down.
Type 2 Diabetes
Blood sugar and weight are treated as one plan, not two. Labs are run here in the office, and the diabetic eye exam is done on site as well.
High Blood Pressure
Losing weight often lowers blood pressure, so we track it at every visit and adjust your medications as your numbers move.
High Cholesterol
Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk are checked with bloodwork drawn here and managed alongside your weight, since the two tend to move together.
Underactive & Overactive Thyroid
An underactive thyroid can make weight hard to lose no matter how carefully you eat. We test thyroid function here, treat what we find, and keep it monitored as part of the plan.
Sleep Apnea
Extra weight and poor sleep feed each other. When sleep apnea is suspected, we arrange a home sleep study through the practice.
Joint Pain
Knees and hips carry the extra load. Joint injections are done in our office while your plan works on the weight itself.
Our Services
How we support your weight loss
Physician-Guided Weight Loss Plan
A plan written by a physician after reviewing your history and labs, including what has not worked before.
GLP-1 Medication Management
When a GLP-1 medication is the right fit, your physician prescribes it, sets the dose, watches for side effects, and checks what your insurance covers.
In-Office Labs & Bloodwork
Bloodwork is drawn right here, often with results during the same visit, so your starting point is measured rather than assumed and each follow-up shows whether the plan is working.
Ongoing Monitoring Visits
Regular check-ins to review your weight and labs and to hear how you feel on any medication, with doses and the plan adjusted as you go.
Telehealth Follow-Ups
Secure video visits cover the check-ins that do not need an exam, so a medication question or a progress review does not always mean a drive to the office.
Related Condition Management
Blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes are managed by the same physician in the same visits, so one plan serves all of it.
What Patients Say
What patients say about our care
Dr. Kankanala is top notch. Knowledgeable, listens to my concerns, explains things clearly, thorough, and never rushed. Very kind, couldn’t ask for a better doctor.
I was very pleased with the attention I received from Dr. Siri and his medical staff. A thorough exam, an understandable evaluation of my needs, and clear recommendations for next steps. Exactly the experience I was hoping for.
Manpreet Rattan is phenomenal. You can tell she truly cares about your health and well-being. A class act, thank you for the care and kindness you show your patients.
Meet Your Providers
The physicians and providers guiding your plan
Board-Certified Physicians Leading an Experienced Team
Medical weight loss at Medical Associates of North Texas is led by physicians, and you have a whole team behind them rather than one appointment book. Ravi Siripurapu, MD, Suresh Kankanala, MD, Ganesh Arun, DO, and Chandramohan Mudaliar, MD are each board-certified in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health, and they practice alongside experienced physician assistants and a family nurse practitioner.
For a weight loss patient, that means the same group that writes your plan also manages your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyroid, prescribes and monitors GLP-1 medications when they fit, runs your bloodwork in the office, and talks through nutrition with you during the visit. Annual physicals, preventive screenings, and everyday primary care stay with the same team.
Because everyone works from one set of records and one plan, a follow-up with any provider picks up where the last visit ended. Offices in Fort Worth and Weatherford, telehealth check-ins, and same and next-day openings that we work to keep available all make it easier to stay consistent.
If you are not sure where to begin, text our team or request an appointment, and we will point you to the right first visit.

FAQ
Common questions, answered
Do you accept my insurance?
Most major insurance plans are accepted here. Coverage for weight loss medications varies by plan, so text or call ahead and we will check what yours covers.
How quickly can I be seen?
Sooner than most people expect. We prioritize keeping same and next-day openings available Monday through Friday, so a first weight loss visit rarely means waiting weeks. Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays, but text us first so we can confirm a slot. Follow-ups can also happen by telehealth.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
Usually not. You can book a medical weight loss visit with us directly. A few insurance plans do ask for a referral, and our staff can help you find out.
What should I bring to my first visit?
A photo ID, your insurance card, and every medication and supplement you take, including anything you have tried for weight loss before. Past lab results or records from another doctor are useful too, since they show us where you are starting from.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. New adult patients are welcome at the Fort Worth and Weatherford offices, including patients coming in specifically for weight loss, and we leave room on the calendar so a first visit is not weeks out.
MANT has been such a breath of fresh air. The staff is always on time, everything runs smoothly, and my PA Nicole Barnes goes above and beyond, the kindest and most thorough provider I’ve had. Easy online scheduling and labs on site.
Physician-Guided Weight Loss For Fort Worth Adults
Medical weight loss in Fort Worth means something specific at Medical Associates of North Texas: a physician looks at why the weight has been hard to move, treats what is contributing, and prescribes medication only when it is the right fit for you. All four of our physicians are board-certified in internal medicine, and that matters because weight is rarely a standalone problem. Blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid function, and sleep all shape it, and doctors who specialize in adults are trained to manage those together instead of sending you to several specialists. The first visit typically includes bloodwork drawn in our office, often with many results during the visit, so the plan is built on your numbers rather than a questionnaire. GLP-1 medications are part of the conversation when they make sense for you, and we check what your insurance plan covers before anything is prescribed. We will not promise a number on the scale or a date you will reach it. What you get is a doctor who knows your history, a plan that gets looked at again each time you come in, and a second office in Weatherford if that is ever closer to home.
What Happens At Your Weight Loss Visit
Your first appointment is a medical evaluation, not a sales consultation. A provider reviews your history, the medications and supplements you take, what you have already tried, and the conditions that tend to travel with weight. Bloodwork is drawn in our office, often with results within the same visit, so blood sugar, cholesterol, and thyroid function are known before any decision is made. From there your physician writes the plan. When a GLP-1 medication is appropriate, it is prescribed and dosed here, side effects are watched, and our staff checks what your insurance covers. When it is not appropriate, we tell you that plainly. Nutrition comes up in the exam room as guidance from a physician who knows your labs, not as a separate program. Follow-up visits track your weight and labs and adjust doses as you go, and the check-ins that do not need an exam can happen by secure video. If sleep apnea is suspected, a home sleep study is arranged through the practice. High blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes are managed in the same visits by the same team, led by Ravi Siripurapu, MD and three fellow board-certified physicians, so your care stays in one place.
A great office with a very attentive staff. The providers always take their time and are incredibly thorough. I’ve been going here for about 10 years and will keep coming back.
Manpreet Rattan was so attentive to my concerns and genuinely caring. She took the time to explain everything and map out a plan to better my health, and the staff is lovely.
Two Locations Near You
Our Fort Worth office is at 1023 Lipscomb St, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76104, and our Weatherford office is at 2111 Fort Worth Hwy, Weatherford, TX 76086. Both are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and both answer the same phone and text number, 972-544-6600, so one message reaches either location. The same board-certified physicians lead the weight loss care at each. The easiest first step is a text, and we text back to set up a time. Online scheduling shows current openings and lets you choose the office, the provider, and the visit type, and the question form on this page works if you would rather ask something first. Most major insurance plans are accepted, and because coverage for weight loss medication differs from plan to plan, we check what your plan covers before your visit and tell you what we find. On Google, more than 1,800 patients have given the practice 4.8 stars, and the reviews repeat two themes above all: a staff that is friendly and caring, and providers who take the time to listen. The practice sees adults only. New patients are welcome at both offices, and we keep openings on the calendar so your first weight loss visit is not weeks away.
