Diabetes Doctor in Fort Worth

One team managing your diabetes, with labs and eye exams in the office

Our Approach

Diabetes managed as part of your whole health

Managing diabetes well is a month-after-month effort, and it goes better when one team is tracking all of it. Our physicians hold board certification in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health, which means diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and the medications for each are the everyday work of this office. Blood sugar labs are drawn here, a diabetic eye exam is available on site, and every visit ends with a plan you can actually follow. Text or call ahead and we will check what your insurance covers.

Excellent care and a welcoming environment. The staff is professional, kind, and attentive from the moment you walk in, and the doctors take the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and truly care. Highly recommended for quality medical care in Fort Worth.

Why Choose Us

Built for long-term diabetes care

Adult Specialists Who Manage Diabetes

Our four physicians are board-certified in internal medicine, doctors who specialize in adults, and type 2 diabetes is part of their everyday work. Physician assistants and a nurse practitioner round out the team.

Labs Done Here

Blood sugar labs are drawn in our office, with many results during the visit, so medication decisions can often be made before you leave rather than weeks later by phone.

Diabetic Eye Exam On Site

Diabetes can affect the eyes quietly, which is why a diabetic eye exam (retinal screening) is available right in our office instead of requiring a separate appointment somewhere else.

One Practice Tracking Everything

Your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and medications are followed in one place by one team, with telehealth visits for the follow-ups that do not need an exam.

Conditions We Treat

Diabetes and everything connected to it

Type 2 Diabetes

Ongoing management of type 2 diabetes that accounts for your medications and your daily routine, with blood sugar labs drawn in our office.

Prediabetes Care

When blood sugar is rising but not yet diabetes, we watch it closely and work with you on the next step.

Diabetes & High Blood Pressure

Hypertension and diabetes often arrive together and each makes the other harder on the heart and kidneys, so we manage both under one plan.

Diabetes & High Cholesterol

Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk are checked and treated alongside your blood sugar, since protecting the heart is central to diabetes care.

Weight & Diabetes

Extra weight and blood sugar push on each other, so physician-guided weight loss, with GLP-1 medications where they fit, is part of the plan.

Underactive or Overactive Thyroid

An underactive or overactive thyroid can affect weight and energy and complicate blood sugar, so we test for it and treat it as part of the same plan, with ongoing monitoring.

Kidney & Heart Risk

Diabetes raises the stakes for kidneys and heart. We follow both over time, co-manage with your specialists, and welcome patients on dialysis.

Diabetic Eye Health

Retinal screening looks for diabetes-related eye changes before they cause trouble, and the diabetic eye exam is done in our office.

Our Services

What diabetes care includes here

Diabetes Management & Medication Monitoring

A plan for your blood sugar and your medications, reviewed at every visit and adjusted as your needs change.

In-Office Labs & Bloodwork

Blood sugar labs and routine bloodwork are drawn here, with many results during the visit, so decisions are not waiting on a mailed report.

Diabetic Eye Exam (Retinal Screening)

An eye exam built for people with diabetes, done in our office as part of your regular care. There is no separate referral to chase and no second trip across town for the screening.

Medical Weight Loss & GLP-1

Physician-guided weight loss managed alongside your diabetes, with GLP-1 medications prescribed where they make sense for you. We check what your plan covers before you start.

Blood Pressure & Cholesterol

Hypertension and cholesterol are managed in the same visit as your blood sugar, by the same provider, because the three are best tracked together, not across three separate offices.

Telehealth Visits For Follow-Ups

Secure video visits for medication check-ins and questions between exams, so staying on top of diabetes does not always mean a drive.

Meet Your Providers

The team behind your diabetes care

Four Physicians, One Coordinated Care Team

Diabetes care at Medical Associates of North Texas comes from a group rather than one doctor’s calendar. Ravi Siripurapu, MD, Suresh Kankanala, MD, Ganesh Arun, DO, and Chandramohan Mudaliar, MD lead the practice, each board-certified in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health. Experienced physician assistants and a family nurse practitioner work beside them, under physician supervision, from the same chart.

For a patient with diabetes, that team covers the whole picture: blood sugar labs and bloodwork drawn in the office, the diabetic eye exam, medication management and monitoring, blood pressure and cholesterol treatment, physician-guided weight loss, thyroid care, and co-management for patients whose diabetes sits alongside kidney disease, heart disease, or dialysis.

Because every provider works from one record and one plan, seeing a different provider does not mean starting over. If your usual doctor is out, you can still be seen. Offices in Fort Worth and Weatherford, telehealth follow-ups, and our practice of keeping same and next-day openings available all make it easier to stay on schedule.

If you are not sure which provider to see first, text us or request an appointment and we will point you to the right next step.

FAQ

Common questions, answered

Do you accept my insurance?

Most major insurance plans are accepted here. Send us a text or call before your appointment and we will check your coverage ahead of time.

Often within a day or two. Keeping same and next-day openings available, Monday through Friday, is a priority here, and new diabetes patients are often seen that quickly. Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays as well; text us first so we can confirm a slot. Follow-ups that do not need an exam can happen by telehealth.

Usually not. Most patients book with us directly, no referral needed. A few insurance plans do ask for one, and our front desk can help you find out if yours does.

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and every medication you take, including insulin and anything over the counter. If you have a glucose log, recent lab results, or records from the doctor who managed your diabetes before, bring those too; they give us a starting point.

Yes. New adult patients, including those transferring diabetes care from another practice, are welcome at both the Fort Worth and Weatherford offices, and we hold space on the schedule so new patients are not waiting weeks to get started.

MANT has been such a breath of fresh air. The staff is always on time, everything runs smoothly, and my PA Nicole Barnes goes above and beyond, the kindest and most thorough provider I’ve had. Easy online scheduling and labs on site.

Diabetes Care Built Around The Whole Patient

A diabetes doctor in Fort Worth does not have to mean a specialist across town and a long wait. For most adults with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, the right diabetes doctor is a physician trained in internal medicine, the specialty built around adult health, who manages blood sugar as one part of a larger picture. That is the model at Medical Associates of North Texas. Our four physicians are board-certified in internal medicine, and diabetes management is part of their daily work, usually alongside high blood pressure, high cholesterol, extra weight, or thyroid trouble, each of which changes how the others should be treated. Blood sugar labs are drawn in our Fort Worth office with many results during the visit, a diabetic eye exam is available on site, and medications are reviewed and adjusted at each appointment rather than once a year. Patients whose diabetes sits alongside kidney disease, heart disease, dialysis, or a transplant are welcome, with our physicians co-managing alongside their specialists. Keeping same and next-day openings available Monday through Friday is a priority, so a worrying reading or a new symptom can usually be looked at quickly.

What A Diabetes Visit Looks Like Here

A first diabetes visit starts with the full history: how long you have had it, what you take, what your numbers have been doing, and what has or has not worked. Bloodwork is drawn before you leave, with many results during the visit, so the provider can talk through the plan with real numbers in hand. The diabetic eye exam (retinal screening) is done in the office, and blood pressure and cholesterol are checked and treated in the same appointment, since heart risk is part of diabetes care. If weight is part of the picture, physician-guided weight loss is folded in, with GLP-1 medications prescribed when they make sense for you and a coverage check before anything is started. Nutrition comes up in conversation with your physician, not as a separate program. From there, a follow-up rhythm is set: in-person rechecks for labs and exams, telehealth for medication questions in between, and remote monitoring for the patients who need it. Patients with several conditions at once, including those on dialysis or living with or after cancer, are welcome here, and our physicians co-manage with your specialists so the pieces stay connected between appointments.

Two Offices, Same Physicians

Our Fort Worth office is at 1023 Lipscomb St, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76104, and our Weatherford office is at 2111 Fort Worth Hwy, Weatherford, TX 76086. Both are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and both answer the same phone and text number, 972-544-6600. Diabetes care at either location is led by the same board-certified physicians, so your records and your plan travel with you if you ever need the other office. The quickest way in is a text; we reply to confirm a time. Online scheduling shows current openings by office, provider, and visit type, and the question form on this page reaches our team directly. Most major insurance plans are accepted; text or call ahead and we will check your coverage before the first visit. On Google, more than 1,800 patients have given the practice 4.8 stars, and the reviews keep landing on the same points: staff who are friendly and caring, providers who explain things clearly, visits that never feel rushed. We see adults only. New patients are welcome at both offices, and we hold room on the schedule so a first appointment is not weeks away.
